비워둔 채 속을 지키는 것이...(도덕경 5장)

天地不仁 以萬物爲芻狗 聖人不仁 以百姓爲芻狗

天地之間 其猶橐籥乎 虛而不屈 動而愈出

多言數窮 不如守中 (道德經 5장)

Heaven-and-Earth is not sentimental;

It treats all things as straw-dogs.

The Sage is not sentimental;

He treats all his people as straw-dogs.

 

Between Heaven and Earth,

There seems to be a Bellows:

It is empty, and yet it is inexhaustible;

The more it works the more comes out of it.

No amount of words can fathom it:

Better look for it wihin you.

The heavens and the earth are not partial to institutionalized morality.

They take things and treat them all as straw dongs.

Sages too are not partial to institutionalized morality.

They treat the common people as straw dogs.

The space between the heavens and the earth

Isn’t it just like a bellows!

Even though empty it is not vacuous.

Pump it and more and more comes out.

It is better to safeguard what you have within

Than to learn a great deal that so often goes nowhere.

무심하다는 것은 이렇다 저렇다 판단함이 없다는 것으로 볼 수 있으며, 오히려 만물과 사람이 제 할 것을 잘 할 수 있는 상태임. 無爲 -> 자연스럽게 흘러가는 순리.

사람 간의 관계에서 투사로 가득하게 되는 것은 자연스러운 일이지만 의식적으로 이 마음을 비우려고 한다면 마음을 잘 다스릴 수 있으며, 제 할 일도 잘하게 됨을 뜻합니다...
